Biography


Bass-Baritone Richard Bozic started off as a hard-rock singer/songwriter, whose passion for learning, and musical curiosity led him to a classical voice education at the Peabody Conservatory.

Some of Mr. Bozic's notable opera roles include; Don Pantaleone in the NYC premier of Weber/Mahler’s Die Drei Pintos, and the NYC premier of Vaughan Williams‘ The Poisoned Kiss with Bronx Opera where in a review one New York critic wrote, “Bass-baritone Richard Bozic sang with beauty of tone and august authority as Dipsacus.”  Tom in Un Ballo in Maschera with New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera, Ferdy Rabenstein in the World Premiere of Thomas Benjamin’s The Alien Corn at Peabody, and Nello in the Ohio Premiere of William MacSems’ Mardi Gras.

Mr. Bozic has also appeared in productions with Cleveland Opera, Fairbanks Summer Music Festival, Bethesda Summer Music Festival, dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, Harbor Opera, and was a Studio Artist in Opera New Jersey's Summer Artist program as well as the CoOPERAtive artist program in Princeton, NJ at Westminster College of the Arts.

Some concert appearances include baritone soloist in Faure’s Requiem, Chief Seattle in Brubeck’s Earth is our Mother, and bass soloist in Beethoven’s Mass in C. Musical theater roles include Captain Georg von Trapp in The Sound of Music, the title role in The King and I, and Bill Sykes in Oliver!.

Mr. Bozic earned his Master's Degree from the Peabody Conservatory, where he studied with world renowned baritone Bill Sharp. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, OH.
